Water Trailer 2022

CFCD and NRCS staff use the river trailer to teach students about water conservation and demonstrate river functions.

The trailer mimics a river running near a town along with a farm/ranch. The river starts in the mountains and runs down to a nearby lake. The students get to learn the process of erosion, and can make suggestions on how to improve the river to help prevent erosion. It is a great and interactive way to teach water conservation and river functions.

wildlife escape ramp

CFCD partners with the Moffat County High School welding class to build ramps for stock tanks to create an escape route for wildlife that become trapped in the water. Ramps are available at the District’s office and all ramp proceeds go to the MCHS FFA chapter. We helped provide 26 ramps to landowners in 2019.
